When our parents grow older, it’s common for children to have to play a more active role in their care. It can be frightening and sad when adults put their parents in a retirement home, and thus family caregivers are quite common. When caring for your elderly parents, it’s good to allow them a sense of independence (as much as can be allowed given their health). This means installing railings, appliances, and furniture that are accessible for your parents. When the elderly can take care of themselves, just like all people, they feel more fulfilled and more active. Having others do everything for you can become tedious. These are the secrets to success when it comes to elder care.
