Mon 3/31/2008 8:00 AM Just a quick update for today. Dad was a bit better yesterday. In the morning he didn't look too good, but in the afternoon he picked up a bit. He was awake and had some color to him. We saw a the kidney specialist on Sat and he said that Dad's sodium level was very high 156 and it should be 132-146. So he needed to give him fluids to get that level down. He also said that he had a urinary track infection. He also talked to us about Dad getting the pacemaker replaced and he said that was not a good idea and that Dad wouldn't do well with the surgery at all. The nurse on Sat also said that the lab results showed that Dad did have a heart attack, but we have not spoken to the Cardiologist. Currently, the game is for them to give him lots of fluids and to balance it with diuretics. He was very dehydrated. They apparently also identified the urinary tract bug and put him on a third IV antibiotic yesterday. Sara called yesterday evening and said the sore on his butt looks worse since he's been in the hospital. She was going to show the nurse. Will let you know what goes on. Mary
