One of my coworkers introduced me to The Secret a little over a year ago, but I have only recently started incorporating it into my lifestyle.

So, I work for a Fortune 100 company, and I have always wanted to have an opportunity to do corporate travel. I had never shared this with anyone until I was having a casual conversation with my mentor. She was telling me how she was called to travel at short notice. I told her, wow, that is something that I always wanted to do. She then advised me that we were opening a new location in Arizona, and they are looking for people who are willing to travel. She had not mentioned it to me because she knew that I was a single parent. I told her that I would work out arrangements with my kids, add my name to the list, and set me up for the interview. I immediately started telling people that I would be traveling to AZ starting at the beginning of October.

The next week, I interviewed for the position, and then the week after that, I received an email stating, “At this time, you have not been selected to travel for this position.” I received this email on August 19th. I did not lose faith as I envisioned myself traveling and was still telling people that I would be traveling at the end of the year. On August 26th, I was called into the office by management. They asked me if I was still interested in traveling.

Long story short, my first travel dates were 9/29 and 10/11, and I am scheduled to go back on 11/4/. I have not been away from my kids for a long period of time, and my kids’ dad is super cooperative with the co-parenting situation. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity, and I know it would not have been possible had it not been for the law of attraction and me remaining positive!!
