Tehran, IranMy name is Mahdi, 27 years old from Iran. I am a jeweler and designer. I have 2 younger siblings. My hobbies are reading books, training, piano playing, and doing calligraphy.
I have a girlfriend whom I love very much, and we are both working hard to improve our relationship. Thankfully, her parents are supportive and love me a lot. However, my family does not feel the same way about her. They can’t even imagine me being with her and don’t want to meet her at all. The reason for this is that my mom used to work with some of her relatives, and because of that, she dislikes the idea of me being part of their family.
For the past year and a half, I have been trying to convince my parents, especially my mom, to meet my partner, but they have consistently disagreed.
One night, after reading a chapter in “The Secret,” I felt grateful for the possibility that my mom might agree to meet my partner, even though I did not have much hope that it would happen.
The following night, we went to a restaurant to celebrate my sister’s graduation from primary school. During that dinner, a conversation started with my parents, and after some discussion, my brother successfully convinced them to meet my partner. I was in shock and almost in tears, feeling as if The Magic could have caused such a quick change. I was convinced that the power of gratitude had made this possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
