The Secret brought me my new best friend the same day that I wished for her.

I have always wanted a best friend with whom I could speak every day. However, I have always found that any friendship I make lasts only for a short while, and then they stay away, and I only get to meet with them once in a while.

I was out of town for a week-long function, and there was no one in my age group to talk to. I had taken The Secret book with me. I opened the book one morning and wished that I could meet someone at the function who had read The Secret too and would become my best friend.

That afternoon, I met a girl named Shruti. I had actually met her earlier at the same place three years ago, and we had hung out a lot back then. I am a people person and hug almost everyone I know. I thus had an inner urge to hug her. So I hugged her, and she responded happily in kind. From that moment onwards, we were together throughout the function.

Once, when we were talking about self-help books, she said that she had read only one book in her life so far. Guess my shock when she said that the book was The Secret!!! It was such a jaw-dropping moment.

I was thrilled and ecstatic. We discussed all the things in the book. Since she did not have a copy with her, I happily lent mine for a few days.

She fell ill, so I brought her breakfast every day and stayed by her bedside whenever I could. Luckily, she recovered quickly, and we became best friends. In fact, on our return journey, as I got into my vehicle, we had an emotional moment, and she rushed to hug me. We live in different cities, but we stay in touch. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
