Be careful what you wish for. Most people never consider where the money will come from and how they will obtain it. This story serves as a lesson about being cautious when writing checks. I am a living witness that they do work. The time it takes for them to work can vary.

I have written two checks that were cashed. The first check was for the lender of my 2022 Malibu. The car was brand new when I got it, and I think the check was for around $22,000. I received a significant recent graduate discount and some rebates.

Well, nine months later, I was involved in a head-on collision where a lady without insurance hit me. Both of our cars were totaled. Fortunately, my car was paid off from the check I wrote to my lender using my uninsured motorist coverage. Please ensure that you have this coverage on your policy and that you have sufficient liability coverage for property damage. Thankfully, I was not seriously injured.

I got what I asked for; my car was paid off. I did not consider that I would have to go through that difficult experience. I’ve read many stories that are very different from mine, where others also had their checks cashed.

The truth is, you don’t even need to write out the check; you can simply look at it and visualize what you want. Just make sure to keep your focus on positive things and not get too distracted by all the money that the Universe has to offer. There is enough for everyone.
