A Deadline.

Kanab, UtahI live life to the fullest with my husband of 27 years. I have been beyond blessed over the years manifesting what I want in life!
In an effort to retire in the next few years, downsize, and escape the cold, my husband and I decided to move to Southern Utah. In December 2024, what began as a search for a piece of land to improve over time ended up with us purchasing a house on 5 acres in Kanab, Utah. We were NOT looking to move yet, especially in the dead of winter. However, the Universe started opening unexpected doors, leading us to close a seller financing deal in February 2025.
Our plan was to start purging our home in Northern Utah and prepare for a move over the next seven months, which felt much more manageable at our age. We intended to put our beautiful 127-year-old horse property up for sale in May and complete the sale and the purchase of the Kanab property by August. During this time, we would be paying two mortgages.
Our mantra was, “The right buyer, with the right price, at the right time!” We repeated this daily! Soon after the house went on the market, we received a cash offer and were scheduled to close on July 29th. It seemed like the right time, right? We thought everything was set, but then the buyer backed out in mid-July, throwing a wrench in our perfect plan. Now we were in a tight spot, as we could only afford to cover both mortgages through July, and our seller financing deal was set to expire on August 1st.
By mid-July, very few potential buyers were viewing our beautiful home, and we couldn’t understand why it wasn’t selling. The market was soft, and many people were hesitant to buy due to rising interest rates. In response, we lowered the price as much as we could, continually repeating our mantra: “The right buyer, with the right price, at the right time!”
August 1st came and went, and still no serious inquiries. Thankfully, we were able to extend the seller financing deal, but we would be out of funds to pay two mortgages after September. To make matters worse, I received an amazing job opportunity in July that would require a significant amount of focus due to large engagements. Stress levels were high, but my husband kept reminding me that if we believed in the Universe, our timing wasn’t theirs. We needed to be patient and trust that the right buyer would come at the right time.
My first engagement was scheduled to launch on August 28th but was thankfully pushed back due to delays in contract signings. My focus was solely on selling the house, so the delay felt like perfect timing.
When September arrived and we had no money left, we decided to take the house off the market on October 1st and plan to rent it, hoping to relist it next summer. It wasn’t ideal, but we were out of time.
I had several prospective renters lined up since we were renting the main house and loft separately. I informed the potential renters that we had one last lady interested in seeing the house, and after her viewing, we would officially take the property off the market and sign rental agreements. The lady came by, and right from the start, I didn’t get a warm feeling that she liked our home. By this time, it was September 16th, and we had to be out of our house by October—no exceptions.
Twenty minutes after she left, we received a call from our agent: she was offering a cash full-price offer and wanted to close in two days! We were stunned! It felt like the right buyer finally came with the right price at the right time!
We quickly scrambled to remove our remaining belongings and move our horses to Kanab. The following week was a whirlwind, but we made our last trip and successfully closed on our house in Kanab.
Before closing on both houses, my first engagement had continually been postponed since the end of August. We closed on our old house on a Friday, and my engagement successfully launched the following Monday!
I truly believe in manifesting your desires. Although it may seem like things aren’t going your way, with continued faith, the Universe will come through for you with perfect timing!
God bless,
Donna in Kanab
