Like they say, rejections and failures are God’s way of protecting you and guiding you toward your true path. I am not saying there\u2019s anything wrong with my original career; it\u2019s just that I was not finding success in it. I am an artist at heart, and it doesn\u2019t matter if my canvas is hair or a DJ console. The point is, I was born to be an artist, whether it\u2019s as a hairdresser or a DJ.<\/p>\n
My journey has been long yet beautiful. I started taking piano lessons and joined the choir in second grade. During my teenage years, I started singing karaoke, which eventually led me to the Mumbai Karaoke World Championships, where I made it to the finals two years in a row. I have hosted a couple of gigs around the city now and then. Music is in my blood, as my great grandmother, Jaddanbai, was one of India’s first classical thumri singers. My dad’s family is blessed with actors and talented singers with strong voices. I am grateful for the artistry that has been passed down through generations.<\/p>\n
