After a horrible divorce, I decided to leave the state I was in and move across the country to a job that I thought at the time was my dream job. After just three months at this ‘fly in, fly out’ FIFO job, I was made redundant due to no fault of my own.<\/p>\n
Then, I secured what I thought was an amazing job and was excited to start as I would be home every night to my fur babies. Well, it was a rough start; there was no training. The superintendent left after three months, and the old one came back. She clearly didn\u2019t like me from the first day. Her energy was just horrible. She used to say things like, \u201cDo you feel like you fit in here?\u201d All this did was make me feel insecure in my role and nervous.<\/p>\n
Long story short, I lost my job a few days before my probation was about to end. I was in shock, in disbelief, and heartbroken as I gave my all at this job. After this, I fell into a deep, dark hole of depression and fear. With no money coming in, how was I going to survive? I\u2019m 53 with no savings, no job, and feeling no hope. I wanted to just give up. I started to feel pain all over my body, and this made me even more depressed.<\/p>\n
Then I glanced at my audiobooks, thinking how am I going to afford this anymore, and listened to The Secret again. It truly has inspired me. Four months later, I\u2019m feeling no more pain. I wake up every day feeling grateful for the new job that I will be starting soon, for the new home that I will be moving into soon, and for the love my fur babies have shown me.<\/p>\n
