The first time I remember using the Secret, I was about eight years old. My cousins, brother and I had all been given roller skates for the summer. All of them had mastered the art of skating, except me. <\/p>\n
One hot, sultry summer day, I was sick for some reason and couldn’t go out to play with the others, but I could hear what a good time they were having. So I laid on my grandmothers sofa all day long, visualizing that I was out there skating right along with them. As I fell asleep that night, I truly believed that I could skate with the best of them. The next day, I strapped on my skates, just like I knew what I was doing, got up and skated as well as my oldest cousin! That is when I knew there was “something” inside me that could control my destiny and my universe.<\/p>\n
Over the years, I have used that visualization technique to learn any number of things related to my job. But this past Christmas season, I decided out of the clear blue to use it to better my finances. I simply told myself that no matter what the situation was, the money would always be there to handle it. I told my husband what I was doing and he decided to “play along.” <\/p>\n
Christmas came and went, everyone had a fine holiday and we had none of the usual financial crises that had plagued us at previous holidays. Then in January, we had major car problems on both vehicles. I was not worried and reminded my husband that he should not either because we knew this was Our Year and the money would be there when we needed to pay for the repairs. And it was. A long-awaited legal settlement arrived in the same mail with the repair bills. It was more than enough to pay both of them. <\/p>\n
A similar thing happened in March when a bunch of medical bills arrived together with another unexpected check, and then again yesterday, April 2, 2007 when I needed to pay for a trip I had just returned from.<\/p>\n
And today I know that I must incorporate the Secret even more fully into my life because it has already taught me to visualize a life of abundance and to invite abundance into all aspects of my life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
