I was going through a dark time when The Secret<\/a> seemed to have magically appeared in my life. I picked it up and read it, and it totally changed my outlook on everything. Although the difficult situations in my life didn’t disappear immediately, The Secret gave me the tools I needed to stay positive through the hard times.<\/p>\n

Every single day, I wrote ten things I was grateful for in my gratitude journal. I made a vision board and said thank you for everything in my life. Suddenly, I was a completely happy and positive person, and nothing could bring me down.<\/p>\n

This summer, I was unemployed and living in my grandparents’ house, and I was missing my best guy friend back home in New Jersey, whom I was secretly in love with. I had been in love with him for four years, since my senior year of high school. We were still best friends until I moved to Florida, when we had a falling out.<\/p>\n

The past four years were the most challenging years because although he confessed he loved me on New Year’s Eve and kissed me, neither of us ever had the guts to have a serious conversation about a relationship. Because of our falling out, we hadn’t talked in over a year, and all of my friends told me I should reach out to him. I was always too afraid to put myself out there. However, I continued to visualize a better life for myself, living in my own perfect home and getting a job and a boyfriend. Every day I said thank you in advance for these things, even though at times my current situation looked bleak.<\/p>\n

That was until recently when everything manifested so magically in my life! I got hired at a fun new job last week, and today, I was given my own key to the office. That was the first magical key! Then I moved into my very own brand new condo today, and it is more beautiful than I could have imagined! The neighborhood manager handed me the key to my brand-new place, so I received my second magical key. I was feeling on top of the world, joyful and grateful that everything was finally falling into place and my dreams were coming true!<\/p>\n

Then something unexpected happened. I got a message from an old friend from high school who I hadn’t heard from in years. She told me that John, the guy I had been in love with, had come out of the closet and was gay. Now, some might have reacted with sadness to this news, but for some reason, I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. I hadn’t heard from him in over a year, and yet I found it impossible to move on and let go. I didn’t want to date other guys here in Florida because I missed John.<\/p>\n

Suddenly, everything made sense, and I received the message from the Universe loud and clear. Let it go, move on, and live your life!<\/p>\n

I have never felt so free. Today was the best day of my life because I received three magical keys: the key to my new office, the key to my beautiful new condo, and most importantly, I got the key to my heart back.<\/p>\n
