Gratitude Is Everything.
Submitted by: Nandi
Kwazulu- natalI have big dreams. I graduated with a degree in Library and Information studies in 2021. I more into the Art industry.
Gratitude is everything, believing in yourself is everything, and timing is everything. I believe that sometimes we meet people for a reason. When I graduated, life was not easy, so I decided to find a hobby. I chose netball, even though I was not good at it initially. It took me six months to become a better player. I am proud to say that I have won three medals and three trophies with my team. This experience taught me that there is nothing you cannot do if you put your mind to it.
During my time playing netball, I met a lady who took an interest in me. At first, I was hesitant to let her into my life, but she ended up helping me with my unemployment situation. She encouraged me to apply for jobs and she also provided me with support. This was crucial for me, as I had been unemployed for two years. I eventually landed a job at the Department of Transport, which I initially disliked because it was not related to my qualifications. However, the lady shared her own story of starting from humble beginnings and encouraged me to have patience.
She also introduced me to the book “The Secret” and emphasized the importance of gratitude. Following her advice, I attended a Good Friday service where the preacher echoed similar sentiments about the power of belief and faith. I prayed for an internship opportunity, and my prayers were answered when I received a test invitation. Despite facing financial challenges, I managed to attend the test and eventually secured the internship. I learned to appreciate every moment, even when things were tough.
One day, a friend informed me about a missed call regarding a job opportunity. I was initially disheartened, but I decided to take matters into my own hands and reached out to the person who called me. With his help, I secured the internship. This experience taught me the importance of gratitude and patience. I am forever grateful for meeting the lady who helped me through this journey. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
