I have always been a fan of “The Secret,” but over the past year, my engagement with it has deepened. I have The Secret Super App and do my affirmations at 7 a.m. sharp every day.

Recently, I inherited a small house on Lake Erie, where I spent my summers growing up, making it very important to me. Imagine my dismay when my insurance company informed me that they would no longer cover the insurance on the house! I was shocked. We had always kept the house in good condition, and I had been with this insurance company for 35 years without ever missing a payment.

I started to spiral, but then I remembered “The Secret” and the law of attraction. During my daily gratitude practice, I began to give thanks for the happy resolution of this issue. I visualized the letter or email I would receive from my insurance company, informing me that they had made a mistake and that my coverage would be restored. Every time I had a negative thought about the insurance company, I tried to shift my focus to positive thoughts about them and the person who had sent the original letter terminating my coverage.

Well, guess what? Today, I received a letter in the mail stating, “Please disregard our termination notice… We are continuing the insurance without lapse.”
