I have been following “The Secret” for five years and have read every book, listened to every masterclass, and purchased the audiobooks to enjoy during my morning commute to work. A year and a half ago, I allowed myself to slowly slip back into the negative ways of human “being” — filled with negative thoughts, emotions, blame, and judgment, which were influenced by external circumstances. This mindset eventually engulfed me once again.
Two months ago, I decided to take back control over my mind and to adopt a mindset of gratitude. I started from the beginning of “The Secret” series and listened to each of my favorite books three times. Within two weeks, I began to notice a difference in my outlook, hope, happiness, and positivity.
Just two days ago, I noticed that our bank account was extremely low, and my husband and I were not due to get paid until next week. I added up the bills and the money we had, and I felt a brief jab of despair. However, I quickly dismissed that feeling, reminding myself that despair wouldn’t help the situation. I shifted my thoughts to abundance, took a deep breath filled with gratitude, and put my hand on my heart. I said a quiet thank you for the assurance that the bills would be paid and that we would have more than enough to meet our needs.
The next morning, I woke up to check our account, and to my complete trust and belief, my husband’s paycheck had been deposited four days early! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Every time I felt a wave of despair wash over me, I took a deep breath of gratitude for what we did have, thanked our blessings, and let the feelings go while smiling peacefully. I continued to smile and express gratitude for what we did have, and we were continually blessed!
