My parents are out of town, so I’ve been home alone. Last night, I spent time with some friends I hadn’t seen in a while, and it was wonderful. However, this morning, when my friend was getting ready to take me and another friend home, I couldn’t find my house key.

I was worried that I had locked myself out, but with no other options, we started driving to my house. As we drove, my friend’s phone was paired with the car’s stereo, and I was contemplating how to get inside if I had indeed locked the door when Bobby McFerrin’s song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” started playing.

This song has always put me in a positive mindset, and I often listen to it before heading to work, visualizing a successful day. As the song played, I made a conscious decision not to worry and to just be happy.

On the way, my friend realized she had forgotten her pillow and asked us to turn back. Even though it seemed more convenient for her to retrieve it after dropping me off, I didn’t mind. I was in a good mood and no longer concerned about getting into my house.

When she went back inside, she found not only her pillow but also my key on a table in the living room. By maintaining a positive attitude, my situation turned around. Needless to say, I was able to get into my house without any issues and have continued to stay in a positive mindset throughout the day, making it genuinely enjoyable.

My journey has been long yet beautiful. I started taking piano lessons and joined the choir in second grade. During my teenage years, I started singing karaoke, which eventually led me to the Mumbai Karaoke World Championships, where I made it to the finals two years in a row. I have hosted a couple of gigs around the city now and then. Music is in my blood, as my great grandmother, Jaddanbai, was one of India’s first classical thumri singers. My dad’s family is blessed with actors and talented singers with strong voices. I am grateful for the artistry that has been passed down through generations.

Let’s just say I feel I wasted a decade chasing the wrong dream, but I know it’s never too late to start over. My faith journey began when I was young and has given me every reason to believe that this journey is beginning anew, now that I know what my true calling is. I am grateful and blessed with each passing day, and I have no regrets about the past. I appreciate your love and prayers for my current and future faith journey. Thank you so very much for The Power.

I have read “The Secret,” “The Power,” and “The Magic,” as well as watched “The Secret” many times over. I have been a firm believer in the law of attraction for three years. They are all my go-to books and films when I need a top-up or when I simply need to change my energy. To Rhonda and her team, you have surely outdone yourselves with The Magic. Thank you.

In the first week of reading “The Magic,” I won three contests in one day, and yesterday I won another to ‘the ultimate food and wine festival’ in Jamaica, and this is how:

Usain Bolt’s restaurant Tracks & Records (UBTandR) began a musical series of having Reggae and Dancehall artists perform every week. I remember seeing the ad on their Facebook page and thought to myself, wow, imagine if Sizzla performed, I definitely have to be there. Sizzla is one of my favorite reggae artists of all time. If you started singing a line to a Sizzla song, I would finish it, lol

One day, while on Facebook, I saw that Sizzla was the next artist to perform the following week at UBTandR. My heart skipped a beat. I thought to myself, “Wow, I would really love to go to that show”, but as a college student on a budget, I had other financial priorities. So, I declared that the Universe would find a way for me to go to that Sizzla concert at no expense to me.

The day of the concert, a Tuesday morning in class, my mind was on the Sizzla show. I thought of how I would finally get to see him perform live with a band on a small stage as opposed to the usual major stage shows we have in Jamaica, where people are usually lost in the crowd. I went back to the UBTandR Facebook page and looked at the flyer again, smiling.

In literally a matter of seconds, Heineken, the official sponsor of the show, tweeted on Twitter that they would be giving a complimentary VIP pass to the first person to tweet them the name of the founder of Heineken. I think it took me five seconds to Google the name and tweet Heineken with a reply! Heineken received so many answers in the first 30 seconds that I almost thought wow, I might not be able to win. But just as I thought that I replaced it with: Are you crazy, Sonya? This is YOUR VIP ticket; this is how the Universe will allow me to see Sizzla live in concert.

Just like that, they tweeted me. I won a VIP pass for myself and a friend! I could not stop expressing how grateful and thankful I was to the Universe! So I got to see Sizzla perform.

That same morning in class, after winning the tickets to see Sizzla, I went back to Facebook, where I saw SkkanMedia (a major photography entity that captures the best parties and major events in Jamaica) was giving away tickets to an oldies party “Stir It Up” to the first person that could tell them the name of the artist in the picture they posted. They posted a picture of Beyonce, and I was the third person to answer, but I won because I was the first person to not only spell her name correctly but include her last name as well: Beyonce Knowles!!!

I was on fire! I just remember nudging my friend beside me in class and telling her how The Magic was working! What is so amazing about this win is that I have always wanted to go to an oldies party in Jamaica, but something always came up when they were taking place.

Well, SkkanMedia was not done with the giveaways because literally an hour later, they asked another question for two more tickets to Stir It Up, and I was the first person to answer and to answer correctly! I was on a roll! I just kept thinking that as I was finding all the things I was grateful for, including winning tickets that morning. So the Universe was giving me more things to be grateful for, winning more tickets! It was the best feeling ever! I just kept saying thank you over and over again in my head. I thanked Heineken, I thanked SkkanMedia, and I was just in a great state of being thankful.

So now for yesterday’s win! This one is extra special to me because I am a foodie! I love watching Food Network, The Cooking Channel, and shows like Top Chef, Iron Chef America, The Next Iron Chef, etc. For some time now I have been hearing about the Jamaica Epicurean Escape, Gourmet Food & Wine Festival to be held this weekend on the North Coast of the island. I have been watching their Facebook page and website for weeks, just thinking of how I really wanted to go, and that the opportunity would arise for me to go!

An opportunity came. My classmate’s close friend was going for work, and her office needed two volunteers to work at the Festival, all expenses paid. I thought, “Wow, tell her I want to go too.” So I placed it to the back of my mind, but after not hearing anything, I thought maybe her friend had already given the slot to another friend. I was right; she did, but I was not discouraged. I still had hope that I was going even though I had no clue how.

So yesterday in class, I went on Epicurean’s Facebook page again, looking at the international and local chefs to be at the festival. The local artists to be performing, such as Chronixx, an upcoming Reggae artiste I grew fond of, and Patti La Belle, and I thought, wow, this is going to be a major festival. I would have so much food and literally be in foodie heaven!

Right after I went on twitter, I saw the Jamaica Gleaner, the premier newspaper in Jamaica, was giving away tickets to Epicurean to the first person who could tell them three chefs that would be at the event. Of course, I answered first and said I have this in the bag! But then I realized I had spelled one of the chefs’ names wrong: Denis instead of Dennis, and fear crept over me. Of course, I didn’t win because of that crippling fear, and the third person to answer won the tickets. I was disappointed but thought, okay, this has got to be a lesson from the Universe to not second guess myself or let fear cripple me!

So I kept thinking, Gleaner will ask another question and this time I will get it right and I will be the winner. It must have been five minutes later they posted another question. I answered quickly and correctly and I won!
I went to pick up the two tickets for the food and wine festival!

One more thing. Do you remember that musical series UBT and R has? Well, the next selected artist to perform was Chronixx! I declared it would be fun to go, but there was no way I could go since I had exams just days away. Well, the Universe heard, and that is why I will be seeing him perform for the first time at the food & wine festival on Sunday! Wow, the Universe is really amazing!

One sleepless night, I took a pen and paper and began writing beautiful words about someone and myself. Afterward, I slept peacefully. Months later, I watched the movie “Tears of the Sun,” and while crying, I thought to myself, if I could create emotions that inspire and uplift others, that would be something worth living for. In that moment, I reached for that paper and started singing and editing my song as if I had gone to music school. What a satisfying feeling!

The movie “August Rush” inspired me so much that I secretly decided to name myself Nkutha, because Nkutha is who I am. I have written more than ten songs and am still crafting my artwork. Soon, I will be in a music studio recording my songs. I hope each song I create, with the help of others, will touch a soul.

I may not be well-known yet, and I don’t think that’s what I want. All I desire is to touch someone’s heart because I am Nkutha, a singer-songwriter. Thank you, thank you, thank you to the universe.

I didn’t, of course. I felt bad, but as a kid, I brushed it off. On my way home, something strange happened: a paper flew across the air and stuck to my face. When I pulled it off and looked… it was his autograph.

I don’t know how, or why, but I went home smiling like the universe had just whispered, “See? I got you.

Before that turning point, my life was sort of just happening to me, and I had developed a victim mentality, but the book greatly improved my self-awareness and well-being.

Then, earlier this year, I started learning about manifestation and the true law of attraction, and suddenly, I was different and more in control of my emotions and actions.

This year, I have created songs and music videos, written books, and manifested all kinds of things, from my appearance to my clothes to my intelligence and confidence.

When I started affirming, I was kind of skeptical, but with time, my manifestations became reality. I was starstruck, honestly, that it was that easy.

In one year, I have manifested 108 poems, which were a gift from the Muses. I mainly use manifestation and The Secret for creative purposes and to attract my desires. Though some things take time and some manifest in the least expected ways, it is all worth it, trust me.

The current version of myself is a manifested being, which just means I’m my ideal version in my desired reality. The Secret has empowered me to feel and become limitless and a vessel of infinite potential.

Something interesting is that even my family started evolving to fit my needs and their own just because of my presence. The relationships that manifested themselves for me have led to my growth and constant improvements.

The Secret empowered me to take full control over my past, present, and future in a way that’s ideal for me. One thing, though, is that spirituality goes hand in hand with manifestation. Processes like meditation or journaling greatly improve your chances of manifesting your deepest desires, so be consistent, and your efforts will be rewarded.

Today, while I was going to the grocery store, I suddenly saw a plastic case on the sidewalk. Inside, there were loads of CDs available for free. As I went through the CDs, I discovered a brand-new special edition CD of my favorite band! I hadn’t even wished for a CD; I would have been overjoyed to have just the keychain. But the universe delivered me a special edition CD instead. It seems we are truly meant to have the best! All we have to do is dare to ask for it.

I started flipping the pages, and to my amazement, every page I read was pointing out some facts to me. The attitude of gratitude struck me first, followed by a feeling of well-being, and the ability to control my mind through awareness. Remember to remember.

My life became a mess when my parents divorced when I was 4 years old, and have not seen my father since then. My mother took on both roles of a mother and a father, and she worked hard to earn money. She raised us as well as she could, and I know she suffered but never showed her weakness!

I am the type of girl who laughs all the time and enjoys her life. I wear blue contact lenses and dye my hair. Some people say, ‘This girl is so fake,’ and I say to myself, ‘You laugh because I am different. I laugh because you are the same.’

I struggled in school and failed twice, which was really tough for me. While my friends were moving forward, I felt stuck. I love learning but I don’t enjoy studying.

When I was 13, I had a scary experience after eating a lot of chocolate. I ended up bedridden for a week, unable to eat and struggling to breathe. My mom, despite being alone and living on the sixth floor without an elevator, carried me to get help. It was a terrifying experience, and it still makes me emotional to think about it. I had a health scare that resulted in days of vomiting and bleeding. My family, including my brother who is unfortunately in jail due to drugs, supported me during this difficult time. Although I feel ashamed of my brother’s situation, but I am grateful that he is alive and I can still see and hear him.

I fell in love with my friend’s brother, who I thought felt the same way about me. However, he told me he saw me as a little sister, which broke my heart. I became a mess and started lashing out at my friends. Luckily, I found a supportive friend named Emna who helped me through this tough time by recommending this helpful website.

After reading other people’s stories and receiving advice from my friend, I realized that I needed to believe in myself in order to find happiness. One night, I looked up at the sky and declared that I deserved better and deserved to love and be loved.

After a few months, I unexpectedly fell in love with the friend of the guy I had previously been in love with. We are now dating, and I feel happy and secure with him.

Despite my brother being in jail, everything else in my life is going well. My mother is smiling, my sisters are happy, and even my brother is content being with his friends in jail. I am grateful for everything and believe that hope is the key to happiness. Thank you so much, Chokran Chokran! Live happily, everyone. You are all beautiful and deserve the best.
