New ZealandI am a girl practicing to be positive, and have a wonderful family and friends to love.
Hi everyone, this is my first story written on this website, and hopefully, it will be posted. First of all, thank you to all of you who posted your wonderful and inspiring stories here. I already have a habit of reading the latest stories before beginning my day. They really help me stay in the faith and in the mood of belief.
I want to share a story of mine about using The Secret to get a part time job, and to be happy and grateful every day. I learned about The Secret around two years ago. I used to believe in it but thought I didn’t get what I wanted. In fact, I did get what I wanted, but I didn’t realize it. I got to study overseas when my parents initially disagreed, as it was costly. Finally, they agreed, and here I am, studying at one of the best universities in New Zealand. I also have a better relationship with my parents after practicing gratitude without knowing it.
To make my story short, I wanted to get a part-time job during my semester break so that I could earn some extra money. This was my first time working in New Zealand. After receiving a couple of rejection emails, I was down and disappointed. I knew I couldn’t let the negative feeling overcome me, so I took a deep breath. There was a job that I had applied for, and I was waiting for their reply. For that day, I visualized myself talking to my parents about my new job. I told them how grateful I was for the job and that my colleagues were taking care of me. I also had a picture of myself chatting with my boss that was playing in my head. I see us laughing and serving the customers happily.
The next morning, I got a text from the manager for an interview. I was overwhelmed with happiness and was so grateful. And, of course, I passed the interview. Because I was new to the workforce, I did not get as many shifts as others. This week, I told myself I wanted to work for 10 hours as initially, I only got to work for 4 hours. I don’t know how it was going to happen. I just believed that it would. I told my family and friends that I was going to have extra shifts and clean up my room and told myself that going to have extra shifts, so I wouldn’t have the time to clean up during the next few days. And guess what? I did have extra shifts and am going to work 10 hours this week.
Then, I told myself that I was going to work more than 10 hours next week. I just got my schedule for next week’s shifts. I am going to work 12 hours!
I am now on Day 9 of The Magic. I know that it is my belief and gratitude that brings me what I desire. I am sure that I am going to share a story about how I got my tuition fee very soon.
Like some people, I did have a time when I doubted myself, worried that I wouldn’t get what I wanted. But please, do not be disappointed in yourself; don’t let the negative thoughts and feelings overcome and beat you. Tell yourself that you deserve what you want, this is your life, and nobody but you can do it for yourself. This is what I tell myself, and I hope it is helpful for others.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
