For 4 months I and my roomie wanted to do 6 weeks summer training in BOSCH.

In my college, it is compulsory for everyone to take 6 weeks summer training in the third year of engineering. The usual procedure is that the department arranges training slots in various companies and students are asked to choose their favourite slots. Normally, preference is given to those higher up in the merit list.

I am in the 8th position and there were two students who had better ranks than me and wanted to train in BOSCH as well. For about three months, for some reason I kept imagining that they were going to create a lot of mess and that were going to quarrel a lot regarding training. The dialogues went on and on in my head.

Meanwhile, I requested an alumni who works in that company to arrange for a slot for me and my roomie. He told me not to worry and he was confident he can do it. Unfortunately, his boss told him that it wasn’t possible to provide training this year. So he backed off. It looked like I wont be able to train in BOSCH.

Then I watched The Secret and I declared to the universe that I will train in BOSCH no matter what.

Meanwhile, the other two interested guys were making it quite clear that they will fight for the slots and will not back off. Things began to worsen day by day.

I requested a professor to arrange for 4 slots. He agreed but could arrange only two slots. He was asked to give preference to merit while selecting from interested students, which meant I’d no chance. I intended that he’ll select me and my roomie. As it turned out, he called us and told us that if our branch mates agree on any two names, he’ll send those two persons for training. It was decided to hold a meeting in two days to decide the names.

Fearing that the quarrel I’ve been imagining will actually happen, I began imagining that they will allow me and my roomie to go for training. My branch mates told me on the day of meeting that things were going to get very nasty in the meeting.

The meeting happened and I proposed that my and my roomie’s name be given for training. Miraculously, everyone agreed and those two people somehow suddenly decided not to quarrel about it and to let go. Everyone was shocked at the sudden change of heart.

I imagined the quarrel and it was about to happen. Then I intended to avoid it altogether and it was avoided at the last moment. I really wanted to train in BOSCH and my training is going to start from Monday.
