I cannot even keep count of all the things that The Secret has brought me. I read the book ‘Conversations With God’ some time back, and I learned about the power of gratitude. After a while, I forgot about it, and it was later on that I stumbled across The Secret, which fired me up, and I started applying it to my life.

My life was messed up back then. I had a bad relationship with my parents. They were reluctant to let me go to Bombay to do my bachelor’s. Also, during this period, I suffered from major acne due to some allergy reaction, and it brought me down, especially with all my friends and family asking me what happened to my face. I was waiting to have a better life.

One thing I had was great friends, and everybody thought I was very confident and outgoing. Nevertheless, there was a small part of me that thought very low of myself. I was somewhere, deep inside, submissive and, as you may call it, “too nice.”

After reading The Secret, I first wanted to change my skin. I was desperate. I tried everything. I went to a couple of dermatologists who all said that it would take a couple of months to clear up. My skin was the part of my life that I most concentrated on because I thought the reason I had friends and the reason why I was popular back in high school was because of my looks and without it, I was nothing. I was very superficial, I guess.

During this period, I also put forth the request to get my parents to let me apply to my favorite institute for the media course that I wanted and actually get into it. By the way, my parents were skeptical about my choice of course as they said the media sector fails to provide secure jobs.

Since I was so desperate about my skin, it remained pretty much the same. As for the college, my parents gave up and actually gave their blessings and were so proud of me when I got admission. It’s one of the topmost institutes in India, to which about 6k applied, and I was one of the first 15 out of the 50 kids who passed the entrance exam and the interview.

About my skin, I kept using the medicine, and as promised, after about two months, the acne went away, but it wasn’t exactly the law of attraction. The doctors said the marks would take months to clear up. By this time, my college had already started, so I pretty much gave up. Within days after this, my skin started dramatically improving. It improved so much that my batch mates actually came up and asked what I do with my skin. Now two weeks after that, it is clear, like amazingly clear!

During this last week, I also started working on my confidence and stopped being the one who laughs at every joke and who everybody takes for granted. Just in a day, I noticed how everybody wanted to talk to me, and the Universe put me in situations where I just kept meeting new people.

Today, I just noticed how every single person who passed by me turned their heads to take another glance at me, even though more than half the girls in my college are really pretty. As I entered my class, everybody stopped talking and looked at me, and my friends would tell me how pretty I looked. Also, today I caught one of the prettiest girls in my class, who is kind of arrogant and big-headed, staring at me. Sorry, I am not trying to be mean. It’s just I am trying to give you all a clear picture.

I thank God, The Secret team, and Neale Donald Walsch for bringing The Secret into my life. Also, I am really close to my family, and there is peace now.

The real secret is to let it go and, most importantly, love yourself. I cannot emphasize this enough. This was the key that I missed. One might ask how you can love yourself if you want to change your personality, appearance, etc. The answer is you have to believe that you are all that you wish to be and then love that awesome person. Better yet, love yourself now for who you are. This was what worked for me. I started loving my skin, nose, eyes, everything, and it changed to the way I wanted it before. I now give out this amazing vibe that brings people in my life closer to me.

I love my life.
